DustyClaws wasn't born in a boardroom, it was born in the streets of Athens.

For years, I watched a daily cycle of good intentions lead to flawwed results, kind hearted people spending their last euros on low quality food that dissapeared in minutes, leaving behind a mess and often hungry cats. I saw the cycle of disease and suffering continue, despite everyone's best efforts.

It was a system failure and I decided the only way to fix it was with better design. So I asked a different question, what if we stopped managing the problem and instead start engineering a solution?

Whilst we have many ambitions for this endeavour, we aim to benefit mainly 3 core groups.

The elderly people: When talking about cat welfare, it is often overlooked that many of the people that keep them cats alive and well are people that are well past retirement age, who from their heart give the cats all they can give. We aim to lend them a hand by shouldering feeding costs and controlling the populations. That way they can keep doing such important work but without the worrying part of it, we aim to be a partner to the Elderly Guardians, not to replace them.

City Cleanliness and organization: It is no secret for anyone that lives or spends some time in Athens/Piraeus and some other parts of Greece that many spaces could be in a better shape just by cleaning and keeping them that way, this is a problem that is often made worse by colonies of cats, since there are insects after food leftovers, smells of food gone bad and animal faeces/urine, a problem that comes to light specially in summer months because of the heat. That is why it is vital for us to transform this spaces into clean, well thought and easy to maintain cat hubs, drastically improving the lifes of not only the felines cats, cleaning the city, and empowering the youth and the elderly, that's what we see us doing for as long as we can.

Our mission is twofold: to provide a safe haven for cats in need of care and shelter and to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable urban environment while improving the life of it's human inhabitants.

We are building a unique program that promotes elderly people participation in daily cat-caring activities, providing companionship, therapy, and mutual benefit. Through this initiative, we aim to combat loneliness, provide purpose and joy to seniors, and create lasting bonds between humans and animals.

Join us in our mission to create a better world for cats, our community, and the elderly. Together, we can make a meaningful impact, one paw at a time.
